Bird Song

I started painting Birds of Paradise a couple years ago when a man who had seen my show in San Francisco asked if I would paint plumeria or birds of paradise for his wife. That started a quest for all the birds of paradise I could find and photograph, and his request has led to one of my most successful series ever. There is something so upright, even honorable, about these flowers.
